Few towns in the world can boast of what Dubrovnik is proud of today. Their thick town walls defended the town for seven centuries, elusively defying all attacks. Stradun, a wide stone tiled street full of coffee bars, business areas, churches and palaces, unites commercial, pleasure and religion into the pulsing public life. The notable sculptures and architectonic details on public buildings and monuments display the artistic treasure that can be viewed by all. By the way the town’s buildings raise and merge with the sky, hills and sea, proves that the human presence is in this case enriching, not destroying, the environment.
